The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) empowers life-long learning both for its 6,000 employees and approximately 50,000 enrolled students. The SCDSB operates 87 elementary schools, 16 secondary schools, and seven learning centres across an estimated 4,800 square kilometers in Simcoe County, Ontario.
As one of Ontario’s largest public education systems, the SCDSB aimed to replace a spreadsheet-heavy budgeting process with a solution that helped them better manage a $534,000,000 annual operating budget. The Simcoe County DSB wanted to elevate an effective but labor-intensive process, to make their entire budget less reliant on internal resources.
The Board has elected to connect their personnel and operating budgets through the Questica Budget system, enabling the consolidation of these key budget components for real-time monitoring and reporting.
Simcoe County District School Board will centralize the budget process across 8-9 unions and 40-50 pay calendars, automating the personnel budgeting process.
Questica has focused on providing budgeting and forecasting software exclusively to the public sector for nearly 25 years. Questica is a full-service partner, where in-house staff are responsible for software development, implementation, training, and post-implementation customer care.
Customers include Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools, Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, and Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools.
Simcoe County District School Board use Questica’s Performance, Personnel, and Operating modules to centralize their entire budgeting process, while integrating with JD Edwards — their current ERP provider.
