The Louis Riel School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba, includes 41 schools — thirteen of which have full French immersion programs — with more than 15,500 students and 2,000 staff.
After enduring the time-consuming process of managing finances entirely through spreadsheets, the Louis Riel School Division elected to partner with Questica Budget for more oversight into a budget of more than $200 million.
The Louis Riel School Division can now take advantage of Questica’s change request feature, and fully integrate their Dynamics Nav ERP with Questica Budget. Questica will develop integrations to export the approved budget and amendments to the ERP as the system of record and import actuals from the ERP nightly for easy, up-to-date budget to actual comparisons.
An estimated 85% of the Division’s budget concerns employee salary costs. The Louis Riel School Division seeks full transparency in personnel cost tracking, and anticipates greater accuracy when comparing monthly budget and actual figures. The same process in Excel required intensive manual input, and was prone to errors.
Questica has focused on providing budgeting and forecasting software exclusively to the public sector for nearly 25 years. Questica is a full-service partner, where in-house staff are responsible for software development, implementation, training, and post-implementation customer care.
Customers include Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools, Horizon School Division, and Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools.
Questica’s Personnel, Performance, and Operating modules will afford the Louis Riel School Division more time during virtually every stage of the budget creation and maintenance lifecycle.
